An innovative component for building simulation and budgeting applications. It enables bidirectional and dynamic communication between Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and data warehouses. Through the writeback mechanism, the add-on ensures efficient reporting and intuitive data entry. Leveraging MDX queries and other objects within a wide range of deskStudio application capabilities, users can create sophisticated reports and budget forms. The component fully preserves the functionality of the Microsoft Excel environment, including formats, formulas, functions, charts, etc. xlStudio operates in three modes:

• Design mode,

• Reporting mode,

• Data entry and saving mode.

The Design mode provides a full set of tool functionalities described in the documentation. The Reporting mode allows only browsing of previously defined reports and has the option to refresh all queries. The Data entry and saving mode enable browsing of previously defined reports, data entry, and saving. This mode includes options to refresh all queries and save data.

The solution is designed to provide both department managers and process participants with the ability to control the implementation of individual budgets and input data into them. By leveraging the extensive functional resources of the component, users gain access to creating simulation models with the ability to import data, modeling using the full functionality of MS Excel, and then saving data and further publishing them using multidimensional OLAP structures.
